Service & Appearance Care Hood Release (CONI) Lift the hood, release the hood prop from its retainer and put the hood prop into the slot in the hood. 1 I I An electric fan under the hood can start up and injure you even when the engine is not running. Keep hands, clothing and tools away from any underhood electric fan. Things that burn can get on L hot engine parts andstart a me. These include liquids like gasoline, oil, coolant, brake fluid, windshield washer andother fluids, and plastic or rubber. You or others could be burned. Be careful not to drop or spill things that will burn onto hot engine. a b Blefore closing the hood, be sure all the fiiller caps are on properly. Then lift the h ood to relieve pressureon the hood Prop. Remove the hood prop from the lot S: in the hood and return the prop to it:s retainer. Then just let the hood down and close it firmly. . 202
