2 Installation Overview This chapter provides instructions that guide you through preparing SCSI devices for installation on the SCSI bus, installing the host adapter in the EISA system, connecting the devices to the SCSI bus, cabling and re-assembling the system. For experienced users who are already familiar with SCSI and SCSI installation, refer to the Quick Installation section in this chapter for instructions that allow you to get your host adapter up and running quickly. If you are new to SCSI peripherals, or if you have limited experience installing option boards in your computer, refer to the more comprehensive instructions and illustrations found in the Installation section of this chapter. For a brief discussion on how your host adapter works with other SCSI devices on the SCSI bus, refer to the following section The Host Adapter and the SCSI Bus. Installation Overview
This chapter provides instructions that guide you through
preparing SCSI devices for installation on the SCSI bus, install-
ing the host adapter in the EISA system, connecting the devices
to the SCSI bus, cabling and re-assembling the system.
For experienced users who are already familiar with SCSI and
SCSI installation, refer to the
Quick Installation
section in this
chapter for instructions that allow you to get your host adapter
up and running quickly.
