MASTERING YOUR BERNINA® BERNINA® Electronic 1008 DESIGNER HEM Fabric: Needle: Thread: Presser Foot: Medium weight cotton, 6" x 4" Pearl Crown Rayon cord 80/12 Sharp All-purpose sewing thread Edgestitch Foot #10 (optional accessory) • Select the Straight Stitch #1/green. • Select the left needle position. • Turn the raw edge under 3/8" and press. • Stitch with the fold against the left side of the guide on the presser foot. • Trim away seam allowance as close to stitching as you can get. • Turn the first folded edge under again tightly and place the new fold against the left side of the guide on the foot. • Stitch again from the wrong side of the fabric as in the first step. • A successful hem will have two parallel lines of stitching on the wrong side of the hem and one showing on the right side. • Trim and mount the sample.
