Replacing the Palm Rest

CHAPTER 9: PALM REST 10. Turn the palm rest over and release the connector latch on the system board connector. Replacing the Palm Rest 11. Pull on the pull-tab to disconnect the cable from the system board connector. 1. Follow the instructions in "Before You Begin" on page 6. 12. Lift the palm rest off the computer. 2. Slide the touch pad cable into the system board connector and push down the connector latch to secure the cable to the connector. 3. Press and slide the palm rest into position. 4. Turn the computer over and replace the two screws that secure the palm rest to the computer base. 5. Replace the memory module(s) (see "Replacing the Memory Module(s)" on page 23). 6. Replace the hard drive (see "Replacing the Hard Drive" on page 18). 7. Replace the compartment door (see "Replacing the Compartment Door" on page 14). 8. Replace the battery pack (see "Replacing the Battery Pack" on page 11). 4 3 CAUTION: Before turning on the computer, replace all screws and ensure that no stray screws remain inside the computer.
