1 hard drive face plate 3 hard drive 2 M2 x 3-mm screw Replacing the Hard Drive 1. If replacing the hard drive with a new one, remove the new drive from its packaging. Save the original packaging for storing or shipping the hard drive. 2. If the face plate is detached from the hard drive, attach it with a M2 x 3-mm screw. NOTICE: Use firm and even pressure to slide the drive into place. If you use excessive force, you may damage the connector. 3. Slide the hard drive into the bay until it is fully seated. 4. Replace and tighten the four M3 x 3-mm hard-drive screws. 5. Follow the procedure After Working on Your Computer. 6. Start up your computer. 7. If you have installed a new or different hard drive, try to restart your computer. If it doesn't restart: l use your Operating System installation media to install the operating system for your computer (see your Setup and Quick Reference Guide for information). l use the Drivers and Utilities media to install the drivers and utilities for your computer (see your Setup and Quick Reference Guide for information).
