Secondary hard drive cover Description Hard drive cover for use with both primary and secondary hard drives Spare part number 518162-001 Before removing the secondary hard drive cover, follow these steps: 1. Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer. 3. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer. 4. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 44). 5. Remove the primary hard drive cover (see Primary hard drive cover on page 46). NOTE: The primary hard drive cover must be removed before the secondary hard drive cover can be removed. Remove the secondary hard drive cover: 1. Loosen the three Phillips PM2.5×6.0 captive screws (1) that secure the secondary hard drive cover to the computer. 2. Lift the rear edge (2), and remove the cover (3). Reverse this procedure to install the secondary hard drive cover. 56 Chapter 4 Removal and replacement procedures

Hard drive cover for use with both primary and secondary hard drives

Before removing the secondary hard drive cover, follow these steps:
1.
Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the
computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2.
Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.
3.
Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and
then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer.
4.
Remove the battery (see
Battery
on page
44
).
5.
Remove the primary hard drive cover (see
Primary hard drive cover
on page
46
).
NOTE:
The primary hard drive cover must be removed before the secondary hard drive cover
can be removed.
Remove the secondary hard drive cover:
1.
Loosen the three Phillips PM2.5×6.0 captive screws
(1)
that secure the secondary hard drive cover
to the computer.
2.
Lift the rear edge

, and remove the cover

.
Reverse this procedure to install the secondary hard drive cover.
