ExpressCard assembly Description ExpressCard assembly Spare part number 642763-001 Before removing the ExpressCard assembly, follow these steps: 1. Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer. 3. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet, and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer. 4. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 63). 5. Remove the following components: a. Remove the bottom door (see Bottom door on page 69). b. Hard drive (see Hard drive on page 75) c. Optical drive (see Optical drive on page 71) d. Fan (see Fan on page 89) e. Heat sink (see Heat sink on page 90) f. Modem module (see Modem module on page 88) g. Keyboard (see Keyboard on page 95) h. Bottom cover (see Bottom cover on page 97) i. System board (see System board on page 115) Remove the ExpressCard assembly: 1. Position the computer upside-down with the front toward you. 2. Remove the two Phillips PM2.0×3.0 screws (1) that secure the assembly to the computer. 3. Remove the broadhead Phillips PM2.0×4.0 screw (2) that secures the assembly to the computer. Before removing the ExpressCard assembly, follow these steps:
1.
