SIM Card NOTE: The SIM card is provided by the end user as a security measure for the WWAN module. The SIM card should be removed, placed into a static-dissipative container, and then replaced when the computer is reassembled. Before removing the SIM card, follow these steps: 1. Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation mode, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect all of the external devices that are connected to the computer. 3. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer. 4. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 32). Removing the SIM card: To remove the SIM card, follow these steps: 1. Position the computer upside down on a flat surface, with the battery bay toward you. 2. Press in on the SIM card (1) to release it from the SIM card slot. 3. Remove the SIM card (2) from the computer. Reverse this procedure to install the SIM card. Remove the SIM card

from the computer.
Reverse this procedure to install the SIM card.
