Before handling a drive, be sure that you are discharged of static electricity. While handling a drive, avoid touching the connector. Handle a drive carefully; do not drop it. Do not use excessive force when inserting a drive. Avoid exposing a hard drive to liquids, temperature extremes, or products that have magnetic fields such as monitors or speakers. If a drive must be mailed, place the drive in a bubble-pack mailer or other protective packaging and label the package "Fragile: Handle With Care." Before removing the hard drive, follow these steps: 1. Prepare the computer for disassembly (see Preparation for disassembly on page 19). 2. Remove the access panel (see Access panel on page 19). Remove the hard drive: To remove the hard drive mounted to the inside-front of the computer behind the bezel: 1. Disconnect the power and data cables from the back of the hard drive. 2. While holding the drive, remove the screws that secure the drive to the front of the computer (1), and then remove the drive from the computer (2). 3.5 inch hard drive 2.5 inch hard drive Hard drive 31
