System Error Messages SLAP_System Error Messages This section describes Switch Link Authentication Protocol (SLAP) error messages. In secure mode every E-port goes through mutual authentication before the E-port formation is completed. The following error messages describe the failures that can occur during this authentication process. The administrator should pay close attention, since these failures can have serious security implications for the SAN. SLAP_CERTCHECKFAIL Message Error SLAP-CERTCHECKFAIL, 3, Security Violation: Certificate verification failed on port %d Probable Cause The certificate on a port could not be verified against the root certificate. Recommended Action A switch is trying to join a fabric and its certificate is not valid. This could be someone trying to get into the fabric who is not allowed. If it is a switch that should be allowed, acquire a certificate for it. If it should not be allowed, the switch should be disconnected from the fabric.
