Chapter 2 Installing Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 Server NOTE The installation of the new network adapter will not take effect until you restart the server. If you want to implement Adapter Teaming (requires 2 Network Adapters), Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack version 6a or above is required. If there are errors during the installation, you should verify you installed the correct driver for your adapter. HP NetRAID-1M Adapter 1. Create the HP NetRAID driver for Windows NT diskette using the Navigator CD provided with your NetRAID card. You may refer to the NetRAID card manuals or HP Navigator CD for additional details. 2. Open Control Panel | SCSI Adapters | Drivers tab. 3. Select Add. 4. Click Have Disk when given a list of SCSI Adapters drivers then browse the A: drive to locate the appropriate NetRAID-1M driver (in directory A:\NETRAID). Click OK to install it. 5. Select the "Hewlett-Packard NetRAID 1M Adapter", and click OK. 6. In the System Settings Change windows, click Yes to restart Windows NT. NOTE If you do not restart the system at this point, the HP NetRAID1M Adapter driver will not be present in the driver list until the next system boot. Troubleshooting This section will help you resolve some of the most common installation problems. Tip #1. Troubleshooting SCSI Host Bus Adapter Configuration The boot manager for Windows NT contains recovery logic to allow you to return to the last known good configuration. If you have changed your SCSI host bus 13
