Installing DC Power Cables

Page 36 highlights

Installation Connecting the Server to DC Power Source separate power sources. Connect the -48V (A) and Return (RTN A) leads to one power source and the -48V (B) and Return (RTN B) leads to a different power source. This will protect the system from power failure in event one power source fails. Connecting all power supplies to the same power source will protect the system if one power supply fails, but not from a failure in the power source. I f you are connecting the power supplies to a single power supply, connect both the A and B leads on each power supply cable. Installing DC Power Cables 1. Insert the connector into the appropriate opening of the tray, as shown in Figure 1-8. Figure 1-8 Attaching the Cable Connector to the Front of the Tray 2. Attach the connector to the tray with the hardware provided in the plastic bag attached to the cable. 3. Attach the cable to the bottom of the tray with the tie wraps, as shown in Figure 1-9. Figure 1-9 Attaching the Cable to the Tray with tie wraps 4. Insert the end of the cable through the holes located on the back of the tray, as shown in Figure 1-9. 5. Secure the cables located at the rear of the tray using the cable strain relief bar, as shown in Figure 1-10. 24 Chapter 1
