Removal and Replace Procedures Removing and Replacing Hotswap DC Power Supplies Removing and Replacing Hotswap DC Power Supplies NOTE If the system has a one piece front bezel, perform step 1. If the system has a two piece front bezel, perform step 2. Step 1. Open the one piece front Bezel. Step 2. Remove the two piece front Bezel. 1. Open the Disk Media access door, exposing the plastic bezel pins inserted in the clips at the top and bottom of the Disk Media bay on the left side. 2. Grasp the left side of the bezel and pull it loose. CAUTION DO NOT try to pull the bezel off of the server at this point. The plastic pins holding the bezel on the right side are inserted in metal clips on the Disk Media bay. If the plastic pins are bent, they will break. 3. Grasp the bezel with both hands and carefully slide the bezel to the left until both plastic pins clear the metal clips on the Disk Media bay. 4. Pull the bezel away from the server and set it aside. Figure 2-1 Two Piece Front Bezel Step 3. Remove a power supply from the server. 1. Remove the slide cover bracket on the front of the seismic rack tray. 2. Disconnect the short DC power cable connector from the slide tray beneath the server. CAUTION Always disconnect the DC power cable from the connector on the slide tray before installing or removing the power supply. Failure to follow this precaution can result in damage to the power supply or server. 32 Chapter 2
