BASIC OPERATION 4 R WARNING! When using the BP-263 battery case, frequent or continuous transmissions can cause the batteries to overheat, and may cause a burn. To prevent this, the default time-out timer is set to 5 minutes (p. 44). Be careful when the time-out timer function is turned OFF or set to a long time period, and transmission is made for long periods. • We recommend using the middle or low power setting. ■ Key lock function To prevent accidental frequency changes, or unnecessary function access, use the key lock function. ➥ Push [FUNC](M), and then push and hold [ ](# ENT) for 1 sec. to turn the key lock function ON or OFF. • " " appears while the key lock function is activated VOL], [MONI], [PTT] and [FUNC](M) + [ ](# ENT) are still operable while the key lock function is ON.
