Specifying Utility mode parameters 7 Overwrite Temporary Data The setting for overwriting data on the hard disk can be specified. (The default setting is "Mode 1".) This machine destroys data by overwriting all data in the entire area where an image was stored when that image data on the hard disk is considered unnecessary. In addition, destroying the structure of data other than image data prevents the disclosure of the data in case the hard disk is stolen.
