Developing section Theory of Operation Ver. 1.0 Nov. 2008 11.3.4 Developing bias • The developing bias voltage (Vb) is applied to the developing roller so that an adequate amount of toner is attracted onto the surface of the photo conductor. • The developing bias voltage (Vb) is supplied by the High voltage unit (HV). • The developing bias voltage is applied to the developing roller via the supply roller. • The developing bias voltage is also applied to the doctor blade. • The developing bias voltage is turned ON at the same time that the developing motor is energized and turned OFF at the same time that the developing motor is deenergized.
