magicolor 1600W magicolor 1650EN 12. 1st transfer section Theory of Operation Ver. 1.0 Nov. 2008 12.3.4 Belt Positioning Sensor • When development takes place in this machine, the image of each color of toner is formed on the surface of the transfer belt. The leading edge of the image of each color of toner must therefore be aligned correctly with each other on the surface of the transfer belt. • The position of the transfer belt is detected when the Belt positioning sensor (PS6) detects detection holes provided in the transfer belt. • There are two detection holes provided in the transfer belt. The image write start position is varied according to the media size. For a media size of A4 or smaller, the image write start position is aligned with detection hole A. For a Media size greater than A4, detection hole B serves as the reference for the image write start position.
