Intelligent Diagnostics Module, Front VGA DB-15 connector - memory

Page 34 highlights

8 Front VGA DB-15 connector Used to attach a VGA-compatible video device, such as a VGA monitor. Intelligent Diagnostics Module This topic provides information about the Intelligent Diagnostics Module (hereinafter referred to as IDM) and the diagnostic LEDs on the module. Many errors are first indicated by a lit error LED on the diagnostic panel of the server. If an LED is lit, one or more LEDs elsewhere in the server might also be lit to direct you to the source of the error. See "System board LEDs" on page 46. The following illustration shows the location of the IDM and the diagnostic LEDs on the IDM panel. Depending on the model, your server might look slightly different from the illustration in this topic. PSU Mem CPU ID PSU Mem CPU Figure 12. IDM panel • When the power supply error LED or system fan error LED is off, it indicates that the power supply or system fan is working correctly. When the ambient temperature limit LED, memory module status LED, or microprocessor status LED is off, it indicates that the server, memory module, or microprocessor is operating at a normal temperature. • When one error LED is lit in amber, it indicates potential errors. Check the information in the following table for potential errors and corresponding solutions. LED 1 Power supply error LED Status Solid on (amber) 2 Ambient temperature Solid on (amber) limit LED Potential error Solution The power supply is likely to fail or has failed. Check the BMC for errors and run the diagnostic programs. See "Using a diagnostic program" on page 178. Note: To identify the failing power supply, check the status LED near the power cord connector on the redundant power supply. The ambient temperature is below 7°C (44.6°F) or over 40°C (104°F). Check the BMC for errors and run the diagnostic programs. See "Using a diagnostic program" on page 178. 22 ThinkServer RD340 User Guide and Hardware Maintenance Manual
