Outdoor Navigation The Outdoor application provides a basic form of navigation for hiking and camping. Without loading any external maps (Magellan MapSend Topo) you can create a track, add waypoints, navigate to a saved waypoint and perform a backtrack (following your track back to your point of origin). The Magellan CrossoverGPS has 90 meter topographic maps installed for the continental United States excluding Alaska. With MapSend Topo maps, you can install 30 meter topographic maps. . Outdoor Map without a MapSend Topo map loaded. Outdoor Map a MapSend Topo map loaded. Magellan MapSend Topo maps are available from Magellan at http://www.magellangps.com/products/software.asp. The Magellan CrossoverGPS is compatible with MapSend Topo maps that are preloaded on SD cards. (MapSend Topo products sold on a CD-ROM or DVD are NOT compatible with the Magellan CrossoverGPS.) Loading MapSend Topo Charts 1. Install the SD card with the MapSend Topo Chart into the SD card slot on the left side of the Magellan CrossoverGPS. 2. If the unit is on or after you turn it on, a message will be displayed that maps have been found on the SD card. 3. Tap Yes. 4. Select the map you want to load. Changing Regions 1. Access the Outdoor Navigation Menu. (From the Map screen, tap the MENU button.) NOTE: If you have an active trip or goto you will need to cancel it before being able to select a region from the SD card. 2.
