Chapter 6 Advanced Setup and Supervisor Functions Use the advanced setup options to manually set up your Digital Entertainer HD. Use the More>Supervisor Functions to perform housekeeping tasks, run media library scans, and view system information. You can also use your Digital Entertainer HD to access the desktop of a PC on your network. Advanced Setup The Advanced Setup options let you manually connect the Digital Entertainer HD to your network, and to share media files on your network so that the Digital Entertainer HD can access them. Use this option to set up access to media files on your network that are on Macintosh or Linux systems. To go to Advanced Setup, push Home, and select More>Supervisor Functions>Advanced Setup. The Advanced Setup menu offers these options: • Local settings. See "Local Settings" on page 6-2. • Setup network connection. See "Setting Up a Network Connection" on page 6-2. • Setup network shares. Set up shared media files available for the Digital Entertainer HD. See "Setting Up Network Shares" on page 6-3. • Library management. Manage your media library. See "Library Management" on page 6-3. • Setup program guide download. You must have a Windows-based PC running the Digital Entertainer for Windows software to use this feature. See "System Information" on page 6-5. 6-1

Advanced Setup and Supervisor Functions
Use the advanced setup options to manually set up your Digital
Entertainer HD. Use the More>Supervisor Functions to perform
housekeeping tasks, run media library scans, and view system
information. You can also use your Digital Entertainer HD to access the
desktop of a PC on your network.
Advanced Setup
The Advanced Setup options let you manually connect the Digital
Entertainer HD to your network, and to share media files on your network
so that the Digital Entertainer HD can access them.
Use this option to set up access to media files on your network that are on
Macintosh or Linux systems.
To go to Advanced Setup, push
Home, and select More>Supervisor
Functions>Advanced Setup. The Advanced Setup menu offers these
options:
