Setting Up Network Shares Network shares are shared folders that can be seen throughout your network. You can specify which shared folders you want the Digital Entertainer HD to check when it looks for media files. To go to the Network Shares menu, push Home, and select More > Supervisor Functions > Advanced Setup > Network shares. The Network Shares menu offers these options: • Re-build server list automatically. Scan the network for all shared folders. • Select which servers to scan. Choose which shared folders the Digital Entertainer HD should check when it scans for media files. • Manually add file server. Enter the name of a hidden server, or add a password to a server. A hidden server does not broadcast its network name. • Configure daily scan. You can set the Digital Entertainer HD to automatically scan your shared folder daily. Library Management The library is a list of media that the Digital Entertainer HD has found in shared folders on the network. Each time the Digital Entertainer HD searches for media, it can save a new library. If there is a library, the Digital Entertainer HD powers up faster in the event of a network problem or power outage. To go to the Library Management menu, push Home, and select More > Supervisor Functions > Advanced Setup > Library Management. The Library Management menu offers these options: • Load library. Load the media library. • Save library. Save the media library to a new location. • Set library options. Set Autosave after scan, or Autoload on power up for faster performance. Note: The default is to scan. 6-3
