7 Troubleshooting This chapter provides troubleshooting tips, problems, and solutions related to Nokia IP290 appliance installations. General Troubleshooting Information The information in this section relates to problems you might encounter during the Nokia IP290 appliance installation. Appliance Not Receiving Power Problem Power cord is not properly plugged in. Solution Check cord. Make sure it is properly seated at both ends. Problem Power supply not providing power. Solution Check power source. If no power is present at the source, take appropriate action such as inserting a new fuse or resetting circuit breaker. Unable to Log In to the Console Port-No Error Message Two laptop computers (using terminal emulation programs) or terminals should be able to communicate back to back in the same way that the terminal communicates with the IP290 appliance. If this is not possible with your laptop computer or terminal, the problem is with the terminal or cable and not with the appliance. Problem No console connection to the IP290 appliance. Solution For information about how to create a console connection, see "To connect to the console port" on page 32. Problem Not connected with a null-modem cable.
