Advanced shooting functions Exposure compensation This function allows you to make fine changes to the exposure setting. You can adjust the exposure in the range of ±2.0 EV in 1/3 EV steps. When the setting is changed, you can check the result on the monitor. Mode dial 1 Press bd to select a setting. • Adjust toward +: Press d to adjust up to +2.0 EV in 1/3 EV steps. • Adjust toward -: Press b to adjust up to -2.0 EV in 1/3 EV steps. bd buttons 4 TIPS • Often bright subjects (such as snow) will turn out darker than their natural colors. Adjusting toward + makes these subjects closer to their real shades. For the same reason, adjust toward - when shooting dark subjects. • In some situations, you may get better results when the exposure that the camera sets is compensated (adjusted) manually. Note • If the flash is used, the image brightness (exposure) may differ from the intended brightness. • Exposure compensation cannot correct the image if the surroundings of the subject are extremely bright or dark. 57

Exposure compensation
This function allows you to make fine changes to the exposure setting. You
can adjust the exposure in the range of ±2.0 EV in 1/3 EV steps. When the

TIPS
