Preparation Number of Rings You can select the number of times the unit rings before the Answering System answers a call, from "2" to "7" or "Toll saver"*. Your phone comes from the factory set to "4". Make sure the base unit and the handset are not being used. 1 Press (CONF/FUNCTION). 2 Scroll to "Initial setting" by pressing Ö or Ñ, and press á. 3 Scroll to "Set answering" by pressing Ö or Ñ. 4 Press á. 5 Press á at "Number of rings". •The current setting is displayed. 6 Select the number of rings by pressing Ö or Ñ. •You can also select the number of rings by pressing (0) (Toll saver*), or (2) to (7). If the unit answers on the 4th ring, there are no new messages. Hang up when you hear the 3rd ring. This will save you the toll charge for the call.
