Useful Information Problem The 2nd caller's information is not displayed during an outside call. Answering system Problem The unit does not record new messages. I cannot operate the answering system with the handset. When I try to operate the answering system with the base unit, the ANSWER ON indicator on the base unit flashes for a few seconds and I cannot operate the answering system. Cause/solution L In order to use Caller ID, Call Waiting, or Call Waiting Caller ID (CWID), you must first contact your service provider/telephone company and subscribe to the desired service. After subscribing, you may need to contact your service provider/telephone company again to activate this specific service, even if you already subscribed to both Caller ID and Call Waiting with Caller ID services (CWID). Cause/solution L The answering system is off. Turn it on (page 30). L The message memory is full. Erase unnecessary messages (page 31). L If you subscribe to the voice mail service, messages are recorded by your service provider/telephone company not your telephone. Change the unit's "Ring count" setting or consult your service provider/ telephone company (page 35). L The base unit or another handset is being used. Wait for the other user to finish. L A caller is leaving a message. Wait for the caller to finish. L The handset is too far from the base unit. Move closer. L Another handset is being used. Wait for the other user to finish.
