L If you subscribe to a voice mail service, messages are recorded by your service provider/telephone company, not your telephone. Change the unit's number of rings setting or contact your service provider/telephone company (page 32). L Someone is using the unit. Wait for the other user to finish. L A caller is leaving a message. Wait for the caller to finish. L The handset is too far from the base unit. Move closer. L The remote access code is not set. Set the remote access code (page 30). L You are entering the wrong remote access code. If you have forgotten your remote access code, enter the remote access code setting to check your current code (page 30). L Press each key firmly. L The answering system is turned off. Turn it on (page 31). Liquid damage Problem Liquid or other form of moisture has entered the handset/base unit. Cause/solution L Disconnect the AC adaptor and telephone line cord from the base unit. Remove the batteries from the handset and leave to dry for at least 3 days. After the handset/base unit are completely dry, reconnect the AC adaptor and telephone line cord. Insert the batteries and charge fully before use.
