The oven controls were not set correctly. The oven was heavily soiled. Solution Allow the oven to cool and then reset the controls. See the section on Selfcleaning on page 42. Deactivate the oven lockout (see page 23). Touch OVEN OFF. Open the windows to rid the room of smoke. Wait until the selfcleaning cycle is cancelled. Wipe up the excessive soil and then start the selfcleaning cycle again. Allow the oven to cool. See the section on Selfcleaning on page 42. Wipe up heavy spillovers before starting the selfcleaning cycle. Heavily soiled ovens may need to be selfcleaned again or for a longer period of time.
