"Data error" appears on the TV screen when playing a DATA CD/DATA DVD. , The MP3 audio track/JPEG image file you want to play is broken. , The data is not MPEG-1 Audio Layer III data. , The JPEG image file format does not conform to DCF (page 47). , The JPEG image file has the extension ".JPG" or ".JPEG," but is not in JPEG format. The CONTROL FOR HDMI function does not work. , When HDMI indicator does not light up on the front panel, check the HDMI connection (page 15). , Set the "CONTROL FOR HDMI" setting in "HDMI SETUP" to "ON" (page 62). , Make sure that the connected component is compatible with the CONTROL FOR HDMI function. Please refer to the operating instructions of the component for detailed explanation. , If you change the HDMI connection, connect and disconnect the AC power cord, or if a power failure occurs, turn on all components connected to HDMI, and set "CONTROL FOR HDMI" setting in "HDMI SETUP" to "OFF," then set the "CONTROL FOR HDMI" setting in "HDMI SETUP" to "ON" (page 62). 'BRAVIA Sync' display does not appear. , Turn off any display of the DVD player displays. Then, try again. , Please return to the one screen mode if your TV is in two screen mode. Then, try again. Display language on the screen switches automatically. , When "LANGUAGE FOLLOW" is set to "ON" in the "HDMI SETUP" (page 62), the display language on the screen automatically switches, according to the language setting of the connected TV, if you change the language settings on your TV, etc. Self-diagnosis Function (When letters/numbers appear in the display) When the self-diagnosis function is activated to prevent the player from malfunctioning, a five-character service number (e.g., C 13 50) with a combination of a letter and four digits appears on the screen and the front panel display. In this case, check the following table. C:13:50 First three characters of the service number Cause and/or corrective action C 13 The disc is dirty or recorded in a format that this player cannot play (page 6). , Clean the disc with a cleaning cloth or check its format. C 31 The disc is not inserted correctly. , Re-insert the disc correctly. E XX (xx is a number) To prevent a malfunction, the player has performed the self-diagnosis function. , Contact your nearest Sony dealer or local authorized Sony service facility and give the 5character service number. Example: E 61 10 The DVD player turns on automatically. , HDMI input is selected using TV Interface.
