Battery After the battery is fully charged for 16 hours, you can expect the following performance: Operation Operating time While in use (talking) Five hours While not in use (standby*) Six days *Handset is off the telephone base but not in use. The battery needs charging when: • A new battery is installed in the handset. • The handset beeps. • LOW BATTERY is displayed and the battery indicator on the handset screen is flashing. CAUTION: To reduce the risk of fire or injury to persons, read and follow these instructions: • Use only the battery(ies) provided or equivalent. Check with local waste management codes for special disposal instructions. • Do not open or mutilate the battery(ies). Released electrolyte is corrosive and may cause burns or injury to the eyes or skin. The electrolyte may be toxic if swallowed. • Exercise care in handling batteries in order not to create a short circuit with conductive materials such as rings, bracelets, and keys. The battery and/or conductor may overheat and cause burns. • Charge the battery(ies) provided with or identified for use with this product only in accordance with the instructions and limitations specified in this manual.
