Troubleshooting Problem Suggestion I hear other calls when using the telephone. • Disconnect the telephone base from the telephone jack. Plug in a different telephone. If there are still other calls, the problem is probably in the wiring or local service. Call your local telephone company. • Press CHAN/REMOVE to switch to a clearer channel when on a call. I hear noise in the handset, and none of the keys or buttons work. • Make sure the telephone line cord is plugged in securely. • Remove and re-insert the battery. My caller ID features are not working properly. • Caller ID is a subscription service. You must subscribe to this service from your local telephone company for this feature to work on your telephone. • The caller may not be calling from an area which supports caller ID. • Both you and the caller's telephone companies must use equipment which are compatible with caller ID service. • If you subscribe to high-speed Internet service (Digital Subscriber Line - DSL) through your telephone lines, you must install a DSL filter between the telephone base and the telephone wall jack. The filter will prevent noise and caller ID problems caused by DSL interference. Please contact your DSL service provider for more information about DSL filters. Appendix www.vtechphones.com 53
