Recording Recording from external audio devices 1. Use an audio cable to connect the stereo microphone socket ( the headphones socket on the external autio device. socket) to To stereo microphone socket Audio device To audio output or To LINE OUT (Recording) headphones socket socket Note: · For audio cable, use a 3.5mm stereo mini plug without resistance. 2. While the recorder is stopped, press the MENU/STOP button for at least 2 seconds. 3. Press the Y or T button to select "VOICE", then press the W button. 4. Press the Y or T button to select "REC SELECT", then press the W button. 5. Press the Y or T button to select "LINE", then press the W button. Note: · If you record audio with an external stereo microphone, select "MIC" (page 6). For external microphones, Yamaha recommends that you use an electret condenser microphone with the capabilities of plug-in power operation, 2k Ω impedance, performance guaranteed with a 1.3V power supply, and a 3.5mm stereo mini plug. 6. Press the MENU/STOP button twice to quit the menu setting mode. 7. Press the FOLDER/INDEX button to select the L (Line) folder. Even if one of the other folders is selected, audio data will be recorded in the L folder. 8. Start playback on the external device, then press the PAUSE/REC button on the recorder to start recording. 16 POCKETRAK 2G Reference Manual
