DISPLAY PANEL 1 Multi-information display This displays various information, for example the station frequency, preset station number and name of the selected input source. 2 MEMORY indicator When MEMORY is pressed, this indicator flashes for about five seconds. During this period, the displayed station can be stored in the memory. 3 AUTO TUNING indicator This lights up when the unit is in the automatic tuning mode. 4 TAPE/MD MON indicator This lights up when the tape deck (or MD recorder, etc.) is selected as the input source by pressing TAPE/MD MON / EXT. DECODER on the front panel or TAPE/MD on the remote control. 5 STEREO indicator This lights up when an FM stereo broadcast with sufficient signal strength is being received. 6 Signal-level indicator This indicates the signal level of the station being received. If multipath interference is detected, the indication decreases. 7 indicators Either "dts" indicator lights up when the built-in DTS decoder is turned on. The red "dts" indicator lights up when playing a CD or LD encoded with DTS. The orange "dts" indicator lights up when playing a DVD encoded with DTS. * An orange "dts" indicator may light up when playing a CD or LD encoded with DTS after playing a video-CD or DVD on a DVD/LD combi-player. 8 RDS mode indicators The name(s) of the RDS mode(s) employed by the currently received RDS station light(s) up. Illumination of one of the named indicators shows that the corresponding RDS mode is now selected. 9 , and indicators " " lights up when the built-in Dolby Digital decoder is on and the signals of the selected source encoded with Dolby Digital are not in 2-channel.
