68 HOW TO RIDE 2WD/4WD Shifting the vehicle completely. • Stop Press • down. the selectable 2WD/4WD shift switch up or WARNING HAZARD Changing from "2WD" to "4WD" or from "4WD" to "2WD" while the ATV is moving. WHAT CAN HAPPEN The handling characteristics of this ATV differ between "2WD" and "4WD" according to riding conditions. Changing operating mode while moving can cause a sudden change in handling performance which can cause the operator to lose control and have an accident. HOW TO AVOID THE HAZARD Always stop the ATV before changing from "2WD" to "4WD" or vice versa. j NOTE żWhen the shift switch is moved from "4WD" to "2WD" and vice versa, the transmission shifts when the vehicle has rolled a short distance. Drive off slowly to allow "4WD" to engage or disengage. As it engages, the indicator lights will change from "2WD" to "4WD" and vice versa. żIt is normal to hear a small clanking noise when "4WD" engages or disengages while rolling on hard surfaces, such as hard-packed dirt. NOTICE Shifting from "2WD" to "4WD" (or "4WD" to "2WD") when the vehicle is in motion could cause front drive train damage.

2WD/4WD Shifting
Stop the vehicle completely.
Press the selectable 2WD/4WD shift switch up or
down.
NOTE

When the shift switch is moved from "4WD" to
"2WD" and vice versa, the transmission shifts
when the vehicle has rolled a short distance.
Drive off slowly to allow "4WD" to engage or
disengage. As it engages, the indicator lights will
