HOW TO AVOID THE HAZARD Use low gearing and maintain steady speed when climbing a hill. If you lose all forward speed: Keep weight uphill. Apply the brakes. Lock parking brake, after you are stopped. j This vehicle is equipped with the Kawasaki Engine Brake Control system. It can assist the operator when descending hills by supplementing the wheel brake systems with additional braking force that is produced by the engine. When descending hills, this system alone may not supply enough braking force. The operator should apply the brakes to keep speed safe for the terrain, visibility, operating conditions, and your experience. The Kawasaki Engine Brake Control system is applied automatically under certain conditions when the throttle is released. If you begin rolling backwards: Keep weight uphill. Never apply either front or rear brakes suddenly while rolling backwards. Apply both front and rear brakes gradually. When fully stopped, lock parking brake. NOTE żThis system does not function in reverse. It cannot function if the battery is disconnected. Dismount on uphill side or to a side if pointed straight uphill. Turn the ATV around and remount, following the procedure described in the Safe Operation chapter.

This vehicle is equipped with the Kawasaki En-
gine Brake Control system. It can assist the operator
when descending hills by supplementing the wheel
brake systems with additional braking force that is
produced by the engine.
When descending hills,
this system alone may not supply enough braking
force. The operator should apply the brakes to keep
speed safe for the terrain, visibility, operating condi-
tions, and your experience. The Kawasaki Engine
Brake Control system is applied automatically under
certain conditions when the throttle is released.
NOTE

This system does not function in reverse. It cannot
function if the battery is disconnected.
