Setup Use the Setup tab to configure the port settings. The following options are available: ■ Port State - Enables and disables the port. ■ Flow Control - Enables and disables flow control for the entire Switch. When flow control is enabled, the Switch regulates the packet flow so that a sending device does not transmit more packets than a receiving device can process. If flow control is disabled, packets may be dropped under certain periods of high traffic. Flow control is disabled by default. ■ Speed - Sets the speed mode of the port. Available options include auto, 10, 100, and 1000. For 1000 Mbps connections, see "Speed/Duplex for 1000 Mbps Connections" below. Auto (or autonegotiation) sets the optimum combination of speed and duplex that can be supported by both ends of the link.
