8.1.4 Set the alert tones Three different alert tones are set on by default, but can be turned off, if desired. Key tone- a single beep is emitted when you press a key. Battery Low - a tone is emitted while you are talking on the phone to alert you that you need to charge the batteries. Out Of Range - a tone is emitted while you are talking on the phone to alert you to move closer to the base unit, before the call is lost. 1. Press [ Menu ] and to scroll to HS Settings. 2. Press [ Select ] and to scroll to Tone Setup. 3. Press [ Select ] and to scroll to Key Tone / Battery Low / Out of Range. 4. Press [ Select ] and to scroll to On or Off. 5. Press [ Select ] to confirm your alert tone setting. 8.1.5 Rename the handset To change the name that appears on the display in idle mode: 1. Press [ Menu ] and to scroll to HS Settings. 2. Press [ Select ] and to scroll to Rename HS. 3. Press [ Select ] and then enter your new name for the handset. Press [ Clear ] to delete the last character or press and hold [ Clear ] to delete the whole character string. Note: The handset name can be up to 12 characters long. 4. Press [ OK ] to confirm the new name. 8.1.6 Set the contrast level To change the contrast of the handset display: 1. Press [ Menu ] and to scroll to HS Settings. 2. Press [ Select ] and to scroll to Contrast. 3. Press [ Select ] and to scroll to your desired contrast level (5 contrast levels are provided). The respective contrast effect will display while browsing the contrast level list. 4. Press [ Select ] to confirm the contrast setting. 23

Rename the handset
To change the name that appears on the display in idle mode:

Press [ Menu ] and <UP/DOWN> to scroll to HS Settings.

Press
[ Select ] and <UP/DOWN> to scroll to Rename HS.
3.
Press
[ Select ] and then enter your new name for the handset. Press
[ Clear ] to delete the last character or press and hold [ Clear ] to delete
characters long.
4.
Press [ OK ] to confirm the new name.

Set the contrast level
To change the contrast of the handset display:

Press [ Menu ] and <UP/DOWN> to scroll to
HS Settings

Contrast

3.
Press [ Select ] and <UP/DOWN> to scroll to your desired contrast level
(5 contrast levels are provided).
