Troubleshooting of Minor Faults d WARNING TO AVOID RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK! Repairs should only be carried out by an authorized technician. If repairs are necessary, and you cannot eliminate the fault yourself with the aid of the table below, follow these steps: 1. Turn the cycle selector to Off. 2. Disconnect the washing machine from the power outlet. 3. Turn off the water faucets. 4. Call Customer Service (refer to Page 32). Troubleshooting items listed below may not be covered by warranty service! Please carefully rule out any of these issues before calling for service. Fault Cycle duration extended. The door cannot be opened. Door cannot be opened, even though the appliance has been switched off and on again. Cycle continues running, even though the appliance has been switched off and on again. Appliance cannot be operated. "Child lock activated" as indicated in the display field. Control lights do not light up. Cycle does not start. Start/Pause indicator light flashes. Cycle does not start. "Check Door !" indicated in the display field. Possible cause This is not a fault. The suds detection feature has activated an additional rinsing cycle to reduce the amount of suds. This is not a fault. The unbalance compensation system is attempting to balance the load through repeated spins. This is not a fault. The laundry load may be large, requiring more time. Child lock activated. Power failure. Cycle is running and/or the door is locked for safety reasons. Plug is loose or not inserted. Cycle selector turned to Off before end of cycle. Child lock activated. For safety reasons the door has been locked because the water level, temperature or high drum speed. Child lock activated. Child lock activated. A fuse has blown. Power failure. Start/Pause button not pressed. Door not closed properly. Action Add a more appropriate amount of detergent. Always load the drum with large and small items together. Allow additional washing time for larger loads. Deactivate child lock; (see Page 25) An interrupted cycle will be resumed when power is restored. If the laundry is to be removed during a power failure, call Customer Service (refer to Page 32). Wait until the cycle ends (see Page 26). Eliminate the cause. Select a cycle. Deactivate child lock (see Page 25). See "Adding to the laundry/Interrupting the cycle", Page 26 . Deactivate child lock (see Page 25). Deactivate child lock (see Page 25). Reset circuit breaker. Call Customer Service if this fault recurs. An interrupted cycle will be resumed when power is restored. If the laundry is to be removed during a power failure, call Customer Service (see page 32).
