Troubleshooting Error and maintenance messages 6 As with any sophisticated office product, errors may occur and supplies must be replaced. If this happens, your machine identifies the error or required routine maintenance and displays the appropriate message. The most common error and maintenance messages are shown below. You can correct most errors and perform routine maintenance yourself. Using non-Brother supplies may affect the print quality, hardware performance, and machine reliability. Wait for 30 minutes with the front cover in the open position. Then turn off the machine and close the cover. Turn it on again. 171
