Glossary High Speed Error Diffusion Halftoning method best suited for most printing and the default setting for the BJC-5100. The High Speed ED setting prints faster than Error Diffusion with slightly less quality. Hue A color in the color spectrum. Examples are red, green, and violet. ICM Image Color Management. One of three color management settings under Windows 98 and Windows 95 operating systems. ICM is a standard created specifically to enhance photo quality printing. IEEE Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. Ink Cartridge Storage Box A box for storing a BJ cartridge. A BJ cartridge removed from the printer must be stored inside this container to prevent the print head of the cartridge from drying and clogging. Intensity The amount of color. More intense or more saturated colors are more pure. Less intense or less saturated colors are less vivid. Interface The connection between two devices that makes it possible for them to communicate with each other. This printer features a parallel interface, which makes it compatible with IBM and similar personal computers. Landscape orientation Refers to printing across the length of the page (as opposed to portrait orientation printing across the width of the page). The term landscape is derived from pictures of the landscape, which are usually horizontal in format. LPT1 Parallel port number 1.
