Troubleshooting 7 CHAPTER This chapter describes the problems you might encounter during fax operations and their remedies. It also explains what to do if you cannot solve the problem by yourself. LCD Messages The following messages are displayed in the LCD when the machine performs a function or if it encounters an error. This section describes messages related to fax functions. For other messages, refer to Chapter 9, "Troubleshooting," in the Basic Guide. CHANGE PAPERSIZE Cause When the machine prints the reports or lists, the paper size setting is set to a size other than , or . Remedy Set the paper size setting to , or and load paper of the same size. For the TX report or RX report, the machine automatically prints the reports or lists which was stored in the memory. CHECK DOCUMENT Cause 1 There is a paper jam in the ADF. Remedy Remove the document you are trying to send in the ADF. (Refer to Chapter 9, "Troubleshooting," in the Basic Guide.) Make sure that the document is not too long or too short. (Refer to Chapter 3, "Document Handling," in the Basic Guide.) Then reset the machine by opening the cartridge cover and then closing it.
