Still Images Movies Using a Lens Hood (Sold Separately) For wide-angle shots of backlit subjects without using the flash, attach optional Lens Hood LH-DC80 to prevent light outside the angle of view from entering the lens. zzMake sure the camera is off. zzAlign the lens hood mark ( ) with the camera mark ( ), and turn the lens hood in the direction of the arrow until it locks in place. zzTo remove the lens hood, turn it the opposite direction. zzTo attach the lens hood inverted (as shown) when the hood is not used, align the lens hood mark ( ) with the camera mark ( ), and turn the lens hood in the direction of the arrow until it locks in place. Before Use • Vignetting may occur if you use the built-in flash when the lens hood is attached. • A lens hood and filter adapter cannot be attached to the camera at the same time. To attach a lens filter, you will need Filter Adapter FA-DC58E (sold separately). 1 Attach the filter adapter. zzMake sure the camera is off. zzAlign the notches on the camera and the filter adapter and turn the adapter in the direction of the arrow until locked. zzTo remove the filter adapter, turn it in the opposite direction. 2 Attach a filter. zzTurn the filter in the direction of the arrow to attach it to the camera. zzMake sure not to attach the filter too tightly. Doing so could prevent removal of the filter and damage the camera.
