The online diagnostics contain packet switching tests that check different hardware components and verify the data path and control signals. Disruptive online diagnostic tests, such as the built-in self-test (BIST) and the disruptive loopback test, and nondisruptive online diagnostic tests, such as packet switching, run during bootup, line card online insertion and removal (OIR), and system reset. The nondisruptive online diagnostic tests run as part of background health monitoring or at the user's request (on-demand). Understanding How Online Diagnostics Work

With online diagnostics, you can test and verify the hardware functionality of the Cisco 7600 series

router while the router is connected to a live network.

The online diagnostics contain packet switching tests that check different hardware components and

verify the data path and control signals. Disruptive online diagnostic tests, such as the built-in self-test

(BIST) and the disruptive loopback test, and nondisruptive online diagnostic tests, such as packet

switching, run during bootup, line card online insertion and removal (OIR), and system reset. The

nondisruptive online diagnostic tests run as part of background health monitoring or at the user’s request

(on-demand).
