Chapter 21 Configuring Multiprotocol Label Switching MPLS Label Switching MPLS Guidelines and Restrictions When configuring MPLS, follow these guidelines and restrictions: • The PFC3B supports up to 8 load-shared paths. Cisco IOS releases for other platforms support only 4 load-shared paths. • The PFC3B supports MTU checking and fragmentation. Note Fragmentation is supported with software (for IP to MPLS path). See the mtu command in the Catalyst Supervisor Engine 32 PISA Cisco IOS Command Reference, Release 12.2ZY. Note For information on other limitations and restrictions, see the "MPLS VPN Guidelines and Restrictions" section on page 21-11 and the "EoMPLS Guidelines and Restrictions" section on page 21-14.
