NOTE: Purchasegasolinein smallquantities.Donot usegasolineleft overfromthe previousseason,to minimizegumdepositsin the fuel system. • Donot overfillfuel tank.Filltank to no morethan 1/2 inchbelow bottomof filler neckto allow spacefor fuelexpansion. • Neverremovegascap or add fuelwhilethe engine is hotor running.Allowengine to coolat least two minutesbeforerefueling. • If gasolineis spilled,wipeit off the engineand equipment.Move machineto anotherarea.Wait 5 minutesbeforestartingthe engine. 1. Turnthe engineoff and letenginecool at least 2 minutesbefore removingthe fuel cap.The gasolinetank is underthe rear fender, with the fuel fill cap locatedin the centerof the rear fender. The fuelcap is tetheredto the tractorto preventits loss.Do not attemptto removethe capfrom the tractor. 2. Fillthe fueltank with gasoline. 3. Reinstallthe fuel cap. SAFETY INTERLOCK SYSTEM The safetyinterlocksystemis designedfor safeoperationof the tractor. If this systemshouldevermalfunction,do not operatethe tractor, immediatelycontactyourSearsParts& RepairServiceCenter. • The safetyinterlocksystempreventsthe enginefrom starting unless the parkingbrakeis engagedand the PTOknob is in the disengaged(OFF)position. • The safetyinterlocksystemwill automaticallyshut off the engineif the operatorleavesthe seat beforeengagingthe parkingbrake. • The safetyinterlocksystemwill automaticallyshut off the engine if theoperatorleavesthe tractor'sseatwith the PTO(Blade Engage)knobengaged,regardlessof whetherthe parkingbrake is engaged. • With the ignitionkey in the NORMALMOWINGposition,the electricPTOclutchwill automaticallyshutoff if the PTOknobis in the engaged(ON) positionand the drivepedal is depressedfor Reversetravel. Tamperingwith or attemptingto bypassthe SafetyInterlockSwitches in anyway will voidyourtractor'swarranty.Donot operatethe tractor if the interlocksystemis malfunctioning. REVERSE CAUTION MODE • This engineis certifiedto operateon unleadedgasoline.For best results,fill the fueltank with onlyclean, fresh,unleadedgasoline with a pumpstickeroctaneratingof 87 or higher. • Gasohol(up to 10%ethyl alcohol,90% unleadedgasolineby volume)is an approvedfuel.
