Movethe throttlecontrolleverto the FASTposition. 6. Turnthe ignitionkeyclockwiseto the STARTposition.After the enginestarts, releasethe key.It will returnto the NORMAL MOWINGposition. Do not mowon slopein excessof 15degrees(a rise of approximately2-1/2feet every 10 feet). Plan yourmowingpatternto avoiddischargeof materialstowardroads,sidewalks,bystandersand the like.Also, avoiddischargingmaterialagainst a wallor obstructionwhich maycausedischarged materialto ricochetback towardtheoperator. STOPPING THE ENGINE If you strikea foreignobject,stopthe engineand disconnectthe spark plugwire(s). Thoroughlyinspectthe machinefor any damage.Repairthe damagebeforerestartingand operating. 1. If the bladesare engaged,disengagethe PTO. 2. Movethe throttlecontrolleverto midwaybetweenthe halfand full throttle.Thenturn the ignitionkey counterclockwiseto the OFF position. 3. Removethe key fromthe ignitionswitchto preventunintended starting. 15

After the enginestarts,graduallypushthe chokeknobfully inward
as the enginewarmsup.
NOTE:Donot usethe chokecontrolto enrichthe fuel mixture,except
as necessaryto startand warm up the engine.
IMPORTANT
If leavingthe tractorunattended,alsoturn the
ignitionkeyoff and removethe key.
Do not mowon slopein excessof 15degrees(a rise
of approximately2-1/2feetevery10feet).
Planyourmowingpatterntoavoiddischargeof
materialstowardroads,sidewalks,bystandersand
the like.Also,avoiddischargingmaterialagainst
a wallor obstructionwhichmaycausedischarged
materialto ricochetbacktowardtheoperator.
STOPPING
THE

Ifyou strikea foreignobject,stopthe engineanddisconnectthe
sparkplugwire(s). Thoroughlyinspectthe machinefor any
damage.Repairthedamagebeforerestartingandoperating.

Ifthe bladesareengaged,disengagethe PTO.
2.
Movethe throttlecontrolleverto midwaybetweenthe halfand full
throttle.Thenturn the ignitionkey counterclockwise
to the OFF
position.
3.
Removethe keyfromthe ignitionswitchto preventunintended
starting.
