Back to Contents Page Configuring Your Router as an Access Point for an Existing Network If you have an existing network, you may want to use your new router as an Access Point to extend the range of your network by allowing connection of more wireless and wired computers. You MUST turn off the DHCP server on the router if there is a DHCP server already in your network running to avoid IP address conflicts. To disable the DHCP server functions, follow the steps below: 1. Open your web browser and go to http://my.router, or the default IP address http://192.168.2.1. The Enter Network Password login prompt appears. 2. Type the following text in the user name and password fields: admin 3. Click the OK button. 4. Go to the Basic Settings menu option tab on the top navigation bar and wait for the menu to appear. 5. Click the Router Mode menu option in the drop down menu. 6. Click to select Access Point Mode. 7. Click the Next button. 8. Go to the Advanced Settings menu option tab on the top navigation bar and wait for the menu to appear. 9. Click the DHCP Server Settings menu option in the drop down menu. 10. Uncheck the box Enable DHCP Server Functions. 11. Click the Submit button.
