To recover from a critically low battery: 1 Plug in the AC adapter or replace the main battery with a charged battery. 2 Press the power button to turn on the device. By default, the device turns off if the device is left unused for a period of time. This is called the sleep mode. For information on setting the amount of time during which the device can remain idle before it turns off, see "System Tab" on page 75. To save power, you can turn off the power of the Axim without losing any data. The data is stored in Flash ROM and hence is not lost when the device is switched off. Using Your Axim When you turn on your device, the Today screen appears. You can also view the Today screen by tapping the Start button and then tapping Today. The Today screen displays the date and information about the device owner, today's calendar, and important tasks. To customize the Today screen: 1 Tap Start → Settings. 2 Tap the Personal tab → Today. Use the Appearance tab to change the background of the Today screen.
