Choose an Interface-range Macro To use an interface-range macro in the interface range command, enter this command: Command Syntax interface range macro name Command Mode Purpose CONFIGURATION Selects the interfaces range to be configured using the values saved in a named interface-range macro. The example below shows how to change to the interface-range configuration mode using the interface-range macro named "test". FTOS(config)# interface range macro test FTOS(config-if)# Monitor and Maintain Interfaces Monitor interface statistics with the monitor interface command. This command displays an ongoing list of the interface status (up/down), number of packets, traffic statistics, etc. Command Syntax monitor interface interface Command Mode EXEC Privilege Purpose View the interface's statistics. Enter the type of interface and slot/port information: • For a 10/100/1000 Ethernet interface, enter the keyword GigabitEthernet followed by the slot/port information. • For a Gigabit Ethernet interface, enter the keyword GigabitEthernet followed by the slot/port information. • For the Management interface on the RPM, enter the keyword ManagementEthernet followed by the slot/ port information. • For a SONET interface, enter the keyword sonet followed by slot/port information. • For a 10 Gigabit Ethernet interface, enter the keyword TenGigabitEthernet followed by the slot/port information. • For a 40-Gigabit Ethernet interface, enter the keyword fortyGigE followed by the slot/port information.
