Removing The Heat Sink 1. Follow the procedures in Before Working Inside Your Computer. 2. Remove the cover. 3. Press the plastic clip and pull the heat-sink cable from the system board. 4. Using a Phillips screwdriver, loosen the captive screws securing the heat-sink assembly to the system board and lift it away from the computer. Lay the assembly with the fan facing downwards, and with the thermal grease facing upwards. 23

Removing The Heat Sink
1.
Follow the procedures in
Before Working Inside Your Computer

Remove the cover.
3.
Press the plastic clip and pull the heat-sink cable from the system board.
4.
Using a Phillips screwdriver, loosen the captive screws securing the heat-sink assembly to the system board and
lift it away from the computer. Lay the assembly with the fan facing downwards, and with the thermal grease facing
upwards.
