Online Insertion and Removal You can add, replace, or remove chassis components while the chassis is operating. This section contains the following sub-sections: • RPM Online Insertion and Removal • Linecard Online Insertion and Removal RPM Online Insertion and Removal Dell Networking systems are functional with only one RPM. If you insert a second RPM, it comes online as the standby RPM. To see SFM status information, use the show sfm all command. Dell Networking OS writes the line card type to the running-config and maintains this information as a logical configuration if you remove the card (or the card fails).
